How to make a greenhouse "Breadbox" with your own hands on the drawing?

Collapsible greenhouse "Breadbox" popular with summer residents for easy installation, ease of operation and durability.

The opening walls of the greenhouse provide direct access to planting for weeding, watering, harvesting.

Greenhouse "Breadbox" is easy to use and has a simple design.

Design features

The arched structure consists of three parts: the right, left half, the foundation. The hinge elements of the greenhouse provide upward and downward leaf movement, which allows you to adjust the microclimate inside the greenhouse. There are versions: with the opening of one part, both wings at once.

Summer Residents more often use the option of construction with one-sided opening whole sash up. The hinges in this case are mounted on the bottom frame on one side. For fixing the frame using a wooden bar with a kerf on the end cut.

The principle of the model

Greenhouse action similar to the movement of the semicircular cover of the breadbox, whence this type of construction got its name. The axis of rotation of the upper part is located in the end of the vertical pipe. The sides are closed tightly.

Greenhouse covering material - polycarbonate or film. To open the greenhouse, lift up the turning part.

The frame is made of hollow polyethylene or metal shaped tubes. Cut polycarbonate is inserted into the finished frame or the film is tensioned. Material change as wear.

Advantages and disadvantages

According to gardeners, the greenhouse "Khlebnitsa" has the advantages of:

  • the possibility of making their own hands;
  • simple installation;
  • long service life due to the interchangeability of covering material;
  • convenient use for the cultivation of any crops, except for climbing;
  • maintainability;
  • small weight;
  • reasonable price - average in the Russian Federation from 3800 to 8000 p.

Note the drawbacks of the Breadbox design:

  • the need for regular inspection and lubrication of the hinges;
  • periodically hinges jammed, creaking when opening;
  • for transportation requires freight transport (flatbed, without awning);
  • strong gusts of wind with an open sash can move the greenhouse or pull it out of the ground;
  • a large greenhouse install 2-3 people - alone with the installation can not cope.

Characteristics with sizes

The classic performance of the greenhouse "Breadbox" - arched frame of a profile or round metal pipe. Implement greenhouses without covering material.

The picture on the left shows how to make a frame for the “Khlebnitsa” greenhouse with your own hands according to a drawing.

Polycarbonate or film bought separately, cut into shape and size of the openings in the frame.

The construction of the greenhouse "Breadbox" from different manufacturers has its own characteristics:

  • with the lower deaf part (border) to protect landings or without it;
  • with legs for deepening in the soil and without;
  • opening one part or both;
  • pivot line in the middle of the vertical end column or on the bottom frame;
  • different sizes of the greenhouse;
  • with the bottom frame and without it.

Greenhouse sizes are limited and are within:

  • with the opening of one part - no more than 1.3 m in width;
  • width of double-sided construction - up to 2 m;
  • length 2-4 m;
  • height is 0,5-1,5 m.
REFERENCE: Polycarbonate for an arched greenhouse is preferable, as it has rigidity, durable, keeps its shape, but at the same time bends easily. The film has to tighten and fix, which increases the installation time. This covering material is short-lived and will require replacement in 1-2 seasons.

How to make a greenhouse "bread box" with your own hands

Necessary things for self-construction of the greenhouse "Khlebnitsa": a drawing with dimensions and materials. Prepare in advance all the material:

  • metal or plastic pipes, wooden bars - for the frame;
  • canopies (hinges);
  • fasteners;
  • polycarbonate or film;
  • Foundation materials: bricks, wooden bricks, sleepers and boards.

To assemble the metal frame, you will need a pipe bender, welding machine, hacksaw, drill.

A wooden greenhouse is made, having at hand a saw, hammer, knife, screwdriver.

Frame materials

The wooden structure is bulky, heavy, and requires regular maintenance. For the manufacture of greenhouses take spruce or aspen bars size 40x40, 50x50 cm. To extend the life of the hinges, in the places of fastening of the bolts make metal strapping bars.

Optimum material for a framework of a hotbed "Bread box" - metal shaped tubes with a side size of at least 20 cm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm. The design turns out easy, strong, durable.

On the other hand, self-fabricated metal frame requires a special tool and skills. For example, to bend the workpiece in an arc, you will need a pipe bender to weld the parts of the frame - a welding machine.

The design from polyethylene pipes turns out less rigid, than a greenhouse from metal. With the wrong choice of the diameter of the workpieces - unstable, does not hold the shape. When the wall thickness and diameter are too large, it bends poorly, and residual stress is present in the arc.

Foundation

As the basis for the greenhouse "bread box" use:

  • wood (timber, sleepers);
  • brick;
  • concrete foundation.

For the stationary foundation device, they mark the boundaries of the beds, dig a trench with a depth of 40-50 cm and a width of 20-30 cm. Make a pillow out of sand and rubble 10-15 cm. A brick is laid on the perimeter on the mortar or formwork is made, it is poured with concrete.

After the foundation has dried, the boards are removed, painted or scrubbed the mortar from the masonry. Dust up on the garden fertile land. From above on the base establish and fix a greenhouse. The foundation must correspond to the size of the lower frame of the greenhouse.

The wooden foundation is easy to dismantle or move. to another place. Bars 150x150 cm spread around the perimeter of the beds, buried along the entire length of 5-10 cm into the soil, fasten the corners with bolts. A greenhouse is installed on the foundation and fixed in several places.

Practical advice

Useful tips of summer residents to increase functionality:

  • On both sides of the greenhouse foundation, fill it with manure, dry leaves, and grass. Organic debris disappears, generates heat, and creates natural soil heating;
  • On the frame of the non-opening part of the “breadbasket”, fasten the bar with the brushes on top, which at each turn automatically scrubs dust and dirt from the surface of the polycarbonate;
  • When opening fix the frame on the prop from a wooden bar, because under a gust of wind the sash can spontaneously descend and injure the summer resident;
  • Choose polycarbonate with UV protection, the material keeps heat longer, protects seedlings from aggressive sun.

Step-by-step instruction

For the manufacture of one-way greenhouse 4 m long, 1 m wide and 0,5 m high will be required materials:

  • profiled tube 20x20x1.5 - 2 blanks, 4 m each, 3 pcs. on 3,96 m, 2 pieces. 1.6 m, 8 pcs. on 1 m;
  • mounting material: bolts, screws, hinges 2 pcs .;
  • polycarbonate with a thickness of 6-8 mm - 2 sheets (2.1 x 6 m);
  • paint on metal.

Step by step instructions for making welded greenhouse:

  1. Using a pipe bender prepare the arc: 2 pcs. 1 m - for the moving part, 2 pcs. 1.6 m - for the sides of the frame. Diameter of a circle is 1 m.
  2. On the sides of the markup mark the middle.
  3. Assemble the bottom frame: blank 2 pcs. on 3,96 m, 2 pieces. 1 m weld in the corners. The seams are cleaned.
  4. The sides are welded to the bottom frame. Marker mark the middle.
  5. The bottom pillars are welded to the bottom frame and sidewall at the points of the middle. The hinge hole must be outside.
  6. A blank of 3.96 m is welded to the sides in the middle points at the top. The frame is ready.
  7. The elements of the moving part are welded: side arcs, transverse strips 2 pcs. 4 m each
  8. Axial strips are welded to the frame of the moving part, which provide opening of the sash by means of a hinge. Axial strips below cut off at an angle of 45 degrees. and weld together. Peel the corner.
  9. On the inside of the axial slats make a hole for the hinge.
  10. Install the hinges on the end posts. Hang the moving part. Check the movement of the sash.
  11. Frame paint, prepare the foundation.
  12. Cut the polycarbonate by the size of the openings: 4 pcs. for sidewall, 1 pc. for moving parts, 1 pc. - for the deaf.
  13. Attach the polycarbonate to the frame with screws through the rubber washer.
  14. Mount the greenhouse on the foundation of wood or brick, fix the lower frame in several places with brackets (to the tree), or screws (to concrete or brick).
Attention! Before welding, check the vertical and horizontal level of the frame, sidewalls, crossbars.

A photo

In the greenhouse "Breadbox" grow seedlings, stunted fruit plants. Watering, fertilizing, tillage and weeding is carried out with the open sash.

Before starting work, calculate the cost of the material, evaluate your capabilities and skills. Perhaps the price of the greenhouse in the store will be no higher than the cost of materials for a homemade greenhouse.
