Breed history
Bald breed chickens appeared relatively recently, in 2011. Its "author" was the Israeli geneticist Avigdor Kohaner, who worked for about 25 years to create a bird devoid of feathers. Broilers crossed with breeds with "poor" plumage (for example, bare-footed) served as the genetic basis of chickens. In each new generation, the breeder selected the most "bald" chicks. Such a cycle lasted until absolutely naked individuals appeared.

Breed description
The bald look and the complete absence of plumage do not make Israeli birds aesthetically attractive. Moreover, their appearance in many causes quite unpleasant feelings and even frightens. Of course, the main "chip" of the breed should be considered the complete absence of feathers on the body, head and limbs. Chickens have a smooth, even red skin with shades of crimson, quite rough to the touch.

As for the nature of the Israeli hybrid, then little is known about it, since the work on selection continues to this day. But scientists say that chickens are quite calm, restrained nature, do not show aggression, hardy and patient. Birds do not like fuss and excessive activity. Keeping “naked” birds is not an easy task, as it requires compliance with certain conditions. As a rule, they are grown for the purpose of obtaining tasty, dietary meat, so the birds do not contain a long time and are given for slaughter at the age of 1.5-2 years. With the further content of their meat loses its taste.

The thing is that traditional breeds of chickens in the summer, when the temperature regime varies between + 50-55 ° C, overheat, become sluggish, lose their appetite and, eventually, get sick.

Bald hens are not afraid of heat and heat, they can perfectly exist in a warm chicken coop.
