The northern regions of China have been exposed to the epidemic of African swine fever. Farmers in pig breeding throughout the country are at risk.
The first case of cattle disease was registered in the city of Baoding, in northern China. More than 5 thousand heads of pigs were at risk in the farm where they found sick individuals. Local authorities have already taken measures to isolate and slaughter infected animals, but the threat of spreading ASF further across China remains relevant.

Since most of the world livestock of pigs is concentrated in China, the spread of ASF throughout the state is a global threat to world livestock production. China is the largest exporter and importer of pork in the world. This increases the need to effectively combat ASF, which affects Chinese pigs. Unless urgent measures are taken by the Chinese government to combat the disease among livestock, the consequences may be irreparable. Isolated cases of African swine fever infection have also been reported in Vietnam.
