Useful properties of wax moth, use and contraindications

Despite the fact that the wax moth is the main enemy of beekeepers, sometimes destroying whole hives, in folk medicine, this insect is valued as a means to fight tuberculosis and infertility. Below we take a closer look at the peculiarities of treatment with the tin moth tincture.

Tincture of wax moth: description

The wax moth, or bee moth, is the most dangerous pest of bee hives, since it is in them that it lays its eggs. The emerged larvae begin to devour the honeycomb immediately, since wax and honey are the basis of their diet. After the wax moth, only holed combs remain in the hive, thickly wrapped in silk of these insects. In such a situation, the bees have no choice but to leave the hive and look for another place for honey and wintering. However, due to the fact that bee moth feeds precisely on bee products, it itself has become a very important product for creating healing tinctures and ointments that help in the treatment of a very wide range of diseases. The main secret of the wax moth is in an extract or an enzyme called "cerraza," which she herself produces and thanks to which she manages to digest beeswax. It was because of cerrase, that the bee-emitter and tincture from it began to be used to treat tuberculosis.

Did you know? The first scientist who drew attention to the wax moth was I. Mechnikov. He suggested that since this insect manages to digest the wax, its enzyme can also break down the wax coat that covers the Koch stick. Due to this, with the concomitant use of antibiotics and wax moth tinctures, the shelf was completely destroyed.

The chemical composition of the product

There are also no contraindications for the use of drugs and tinctures based on bee fire for children, for whom it becomes a source of energy and protection against viral infections.

How to make a wax moth tincture?

To prepare a wax moth tincture, it is necessary to use only young larvae, which lead an active lifestyle (they eat up the products of bees) and are not going to turn into pupae yet. In order to get all the necessary enzymes out of them, insects are soaked in alcohol, with a strength of at least 70%.

Important! To prepare tinctures from the bee fire, it is extremely important to use those insects that were found directly in the beehive and fed on natural honeycombs, wax and honey. If you use a wax moth grown in artificial conditions, the tincture obtained from it will not have any medicinal properties.
In order for the tincture not to turn out to be too concentrated, the amount of insects should be only one tenth of the volume of the alcohol (10 grams of wax moth larvae per 100 ml of alcohol). It is noteworthy that during the preparation of the insect tincture it is not even necessary to pre-process it, since alcohol during the period of infusion will still not allow any microbes to survive. It is only important to place the wax moth larvae in a dark glass container, as which you can use any empty medicine bottle that has a wide neck. Infusion wax moth should last from 10 to 14 days. Throughout this period, it is important to regularly shake off the larvae at the bottom. After the specified time, the tincture can be used for treatment as prescribed by a doctor.

Did you know? Tincture of the larvae of the wax moth was prepared in ancient Greece and Egypt. In these countries, the insect was called the "golden butterfly" and believed that thanks to its enzymes, it is possible to stop the aging process. As it turned out, the tincture is really able to rejuvenate the skin.

What is treated with tincture: the healing properties of the wax moth

The described remedy can be used to treat a large range of diseases, but it is important to know how to properly take the wax moth tincture so as not to cause side effects or overdose. If we are talking about children under 14 years old, then the dosage is prescribed one drop at one year of age of the baby. That is, if a child is 7 years old, then during the day he can drink only 7 drops of this drug, regardless of the disease (if 10% tincture is taken, then for 1 year of age, children can drink 2 drops). As for adults, for them the dose is calculated by body weight:

  • When taking 10% wax moth tincture for the prevention of colds and heart diseases, adults take 4 drops per 10 kilograms of their weight.
  • For the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, children under 14 years old can take only 6 drops of 10% tincture per 10 kg of their weight.
  • For the successful treatment of tuberculosis, the tincture dose can be increased to 8 drops per 10 kg of weight.
  • In case of oncological diseases, adults can drink 10 drops of tincture per 10 kg of weight.
  • For the treatment of diseases associated with genital organs or childbearing, it is recommended to take 6 drops of tincture per 10 kg of weight.
  • If treatment of ENT organs is necessary, then only 5 drops per 10 kg of human weight are taken daily.
Important! In severe diseases, it is not recommended to prescribe a treatment with a wax moth tincture on your own. Even if your doctor does not have anything against her reception, the tincture can act only as an auxiliary medicine, and not as the main drug for treatment.
The described tincture is also useful for other diseases, however, due to the individual characteristics of their course, it is important to negotiate the dosage and tincture of the tincture with specialists. We are talking about:
  • bronchial diseases, including bronchial asthma;
  • pneumonia;
  • anemia;
  • heart attacks;
  • ischemic heart disease;
  • atherosclerosis;
  • low hemoglobin;
  • problems with liver function;
  • unstable blood pressure;
  • diabetes.

In any case, it is recommended to take the drug for half an hour before meals. Adults can drink the tincture in its pure form, while children need to dilute it with water. Ideally, only ¼ cup of liquid can be used, since a large amount of water will slow down the absorption of the tincture.

As for the duration of the intake of tincture, for preventive purposes, adults should drink it for at least 4 weeks, after which it is important to take a break for 1 month. The course of prophylactic treatment of children is better to reduce to 3 weeks, making the same break for the duration. But if the tincture is used to treat any specific diseases, then the course of its reception can last for 3 months, depending on the complexity of the disease, as well as medical recommendations.

Wax moth: contraindications

Tincture of the wax moth has both indications and contraindications, but the number of the latter is quite small. To take the drug from these unusual insects is not worth only to people who are allergic to bee products. In all other cases, it is important to be careful only because the wax moth tincture is prepared on the basis of alcohol, which, for example, cannot be given in large quantities to children.

Therefore, Before starting treatment with a wax moth tincture, it is necessary to try this medicine in half the dose only once a day. If the side effects have not been noted, the dose can be gradually adjusted to the recommended one at your age and with your illness.

As you could see, bee moth or wax moth is successfully used in the treatment of even the most serious ailments, such as cancers, tuberculosis or sterility. Most importantly, it is practically harmless and is recommended for use in small doses for pregnant women and children. If you do not have the opportunity to make the tincture yourself, you can purchase it at a pharmacy.
