Ukrainian farmers began spring field work due to favorable weather conditions. As of February 27, ten regions of Ukraine began to fertilize winter crops, and such work has already been implemented on 579 thousand hectares, or 8% of the forecast. In addition, farmers began to fertilize winter rape on an area of 96 thousand hectares (11% of the forecast), announced the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, farmers began such works in large areas of the Odessa region - on 241 thousand hectares (32% of the forecast), Nikolaev region - on 111 thousand hectares (19%), Kherson region - on 103 thousand hectares (19%), and Zaporizhia region - on 69 thousand hectares (10%). According to the report, as of the reporting date, winter grain sprouts in Ukraine appeared throughout the region, that is, at 6.8 million hectares, or 95% of the acreage. 81% of sprouted areas were in good and satisfactory condition (5.5 million hectares), and 19% in sparse (1.3 million hectares).
In addition, the sprouts of winter rape appeared on 860 thousand hectares (96%), including 689 thousand hectares in good and satisfactory condition (81%) and 170 thousand hectares in a weak and rarefied state (19.8%).
