British emit more than 700 million eggs annually

As for egg freshness, Too Good To Go recommends testing it in a simple way by immersing it in water. To check you need to dip the egg in a deep vessel filled with cold water. The eggs lying on the bottom are fresh and can be safely eaten.

If the eggs surfaced, they deteriorated and are unsuitable for consumption. Stale eggs are moving upwards. This is due to the gradual evaporation of moisture through the shell, which replaces the air. The greater the volume of air contained in the egg, the higher it will float.

Throwing out usable food is a big problem in modern Britain. The British send to the landfill not only eggs, but also other products. Every year they say goodbye to 10.2 million tons of food, worth £ 20 billion, which is £ S00 per person. Only one egg residents of the UK throw out 720 million, paying £ 1Z9 million for them. Throwing out eggs, relying only on the expiration date, which is indicated on the packaging, the British part with excellent food, said Jamie Croom, Tosh Good To Go.
