Procurement of cuttings

The pruning process is carried out in the autumn (the best time is the end of September, the beginning of October).

Reproduction of grapes cuttings in the spring

In late January-early February, all the cuttings will need to get it. They are soaked for 2 days in warm snowy water (necessarily defended). Water needs to be changed daily. Then within 1 day they can be held in a special stimulator of root formation.

There are several ways to germinate cuttings of grapes before planting in the ground. You can choose for yourself the most convenient. The germination rate will be about the same in any case.

Method 1

In a transparent glass (0.5 l) in the bottom make 3-4 holes with the help of awls.
Pour a layer of 2-2.5 cm mixture of humus with the ground (1: 1 ratio).
Place a second smaller glass (0.2 L) in the center. The glass should be hollow.
Cover the space between the glasses with earth and seal it, pour it.
A small glass should be filled with previously washed and fired river sand.
Pour the sand, pull out the inner glass.
Make a hole in the sand 4 cm deep and 1 cm in diameter.
Insert the cutting into the hole.

Sprinkle sand on top of the ground and install a plastic bottle with the bottom cut off and the lid removed.

Watering should be done every day (or every other day at high humidity) in an amount of 30 ml of water. The bottle is removed after the roots germinate to the very walls and about 4-5 leaflets are formed.

Method 2

Cut the neck of a plastic bottle. Make holes in her bottom.
Pour drainage and 6-8 spoons of soil mixture.
Install the handle in the bottle, while it should be slightly tilted so that its upper part coincides in height with the bottle (namely, the upper "eye").
Pour on top of steamed sawdust.
Cover with a plastic cup and unscrew the "eye" from direct light.

The glass can be removed when the cutting does not fit in it, that is, in the phase of active growth.

Watering in this case is necessary through pallets. In this case, water is poured into it at the level of 5 mm, then the bottle is placed. It is enough to hold it in the water for about 15 minutes. Leave for a longer period is not recommended.

Method 3

Place the cuttings in a plastic bag, at the bottom of which lies a piece of wet foam rubber.
Cuttings should rest on foam rubber.
Roll up the bag and put in a dark place.
After 10 days, rudiments of roots should appear.

How to propagate grapes with green cuttings

Grapes can also be propagated by cuttings that are harvested 10-15 days before flowering or at the very beginning. At the same time, shoots from breaking and staging are used (two-point cuttings).

Shoots put in a bucket of water immediately after breaking off or cutting.
It is necessary to make cuts diagonally. In this case, the upper cut should be located 2-3 cm from the hemp.
Remove lower leaves.
Plant cuttings in a box or cups.
Put them in the greenhouse.
Create a little shading.

As soon as the cuttings begin to grow, you need to immediately return a sufficient amount of light.

Once the cuttings germinated by any of the methods take root, you can plant them in a permanent place. But there is a second option: to grow seedlings during the entire summer period, and in mid-September, to plant transplanted plants into a trench for grapes for a permanent place.
